The DSR-40P is a low cost DVCAM digital recorder/player in a compact half-rack size chassis. Equipped with both i.LINK and RS-422A control interfaces, the DSR-40P is an ideal feeder VTR for PC based non-linear (ES-3), or conventional professional linear editing. Its compact size means two units can be rack mounted side-by-size, or easily transported as a high quality digital player.
The i.LINK (IEEE-1394 based) interface offers digital dubbing with virtually no quality loss, plus the DSR-40P is fitted with composite, S-Video and component analogue outputs for easy integration into analogue linear editing suites. Other versatile features include Index Point searching and Auto Repeat playback. Both mini and standard size DVCAM and DV cassettes will play in the DSR-40P.

Superb Audio - 4 or 2 channel PCM digital playback. 48 kHz/16-bit recording in two-channel mode and 32kHz/12-bit recording in 4-channel mode.
Recorder and Player - Designed for a wide range of replay roles and simple recording functions. Controllable manually or via its RS-422A interface.
Consumer DV Playback - True compatibility with consumer DV replaying both standard and mini cassettes without the need for an adaptor.
DV I/O - IEEE 1394 based i.LINK DV interface for digital video/audio transfer with virtually no quality loss. Ideal feeder for PC-based NL systems.
Analogue Component - Features an analogue component output for high quality analogue video transfer to component formats such as Betacam SP.
RS-422A Interface - Allows VTR control from other RS-422A equipped VTRs or editing controllers in an A/B roll or cut editing configuration.
Control S - Incorporates a Control S interface for remote control operation using an optional DSRM-20 remote Control Unit.
3-hour Recording Capability - Accepts both mini and standard DVCAM cassettes allowing up to 184 minutes recording. Dual cassette mechanism.
REF Input - Includes an external reference input for play synchronisation with other VTRs. H-sync and SC phase adjusted through menu.
Compact Size - Both compact and lightweight, two DSR-40Ps can be rack mounted side-by-side.
Automated Playback - Auto Repeat allows continuous replay of entire tape or a specific section. A Power-on Playback function adds further versatility.
Cassette Memory Search - Capable of searching for index points recorded on tapes and for photo data. Controllable from DSRM-20 Remote Control Unit.
